For the most part I agree with Detox.

I really had information overload. I suggest not listing the galleries, sections, goodies etc on the home page. I know they will have to click one more time - but there is just too much going on here.

I noticed that you have ipetspot.com twice on the top and internet pet spot twice on the top as well. I would put it in one spot only. I suggest working on your logo and making it stronger. That font doesn't seem to be working. The kitty graphics are also difficult to see.

I would get rid of the black too. It just isn't working for your site. Too dark. When I think of animals I think of bright and happy. Check out other pet sites to see what others are doing:
petsmart.com
iams.com
inthecompanyofdogs.com
pet-products.com
petco.com

Now you don't have to do anything exactly like theirs - but some of these are successful businesses and they might be doing something right.

The one last thing I would do is line up your tables. That would give it a more polished look.

Overall you have some great information and you are on the right track!

No offense, but I would definately get rid of the prompt. Any site I come across with a prompt like that I generally leave post haste... If you want to personalise the site to a viewer, offer membership....place a cookie etc

Overall the site is tight in design. I suffered a bit from info overload though, consider thinning the content and tables a bit. I don't really think that black is the bg color you'd be wanting. It is not as inviting as other choices. There are lots of articles out there regarding the effect of color on visitors to pages... look them up.

Also I would consider changing your logo to something more vibrant..

sorry this hasn't been too nice. I have had some designs of mine slammed pretty hard, but in the end it is all worth it.

keep going though. Like I said the design is tight. You have done a heck of a lot better than a lot of people. The internet is all about personal taste, so whilst I may not find the overall look appealling, someone else might!

don't forget to keep reposting when you update. The members here have helped me out immensely with my designs and I think my style has benefited enourmously... Yours will too....
