Looking for a program that can search out tags and replace content between them, combine text from one file and insert it at a specified line/tag in another, can do pattern matching/sounds like/character like search and replace, strip plain text content but maintain tags found within it, etc....

Much more robust than the regular ol stuff found in all the usual web and text editing programs for the most part.

I've had some luck via searching, but the best program I have found, textpipe 9see above link) and geared much more towards text, databases and spreadsheets more than html.

Yeah, the UNIX realm would be best. Wonder if I could get IT to install Linux on my machine, hah!

I use Textpad regularly and I am positive it has a search and replace feature, as does HomeSite, Notetab, UltraEdit, etc.

lol... this may sound anit-Windows, but...

If you want to do pattern matching and such, stay on Unix.

Looking for something a bit beefier that the default stuff that comes with Dreamweaver. Especially when it comes to template merging and tag specific replacement. Best example as to what I'm after is
