- The photo edges must go, no question about that.

- It looks like you've got some type of mouse over going on the top navigation, however you would need a color meter to tell the difference. Try making the mouse over a bit more apparent or scrap it and save a few KB on your load speed.

- I like the third layout best, but I'm a corporate web developer and clean and professional is my style.

- Maybe replace the dark blue with green?

- I also agree with Megan that the intro should be shortened, maybe just the logo animation. Even better yet scrap it and just put the logo animation on the front page to give some life to the site. Intro's are pointless in my mind - unless they are down right spectacular and for pure entertainment (i.e. movie pages, artists, etc)

Good luck with your site and post an update when you've made some changes!

The one thing I noticed on all three sites is that your text graphics are very fuzzy. See if you can sharpen those up.

I personally don't like the third version for a golf course. Being a golfer it just feels to hard. Golfing is a sport, it's fun, it's relaxing (not for me - but for some ) and it's a vacation. I don't feel that the blue color and the hard edges "feel" like golf. I really like the green color in the first site and I like the "dots" in front of the nav buttons - (real golf feel) But this site is missing some umph.

I really like the second site (up to where the pictures start) The top bar is very soft and relaxing. And the color is good. (But the text graphics need some help)

I was thinking this - take the top navigation and graphic from the second site, then use the table from the third underneath it to help it feel "together". Just use different colors than the blue. Make sense? Maybe with the soft look and colors of the top bar mixed with a table it would be a good look.

Brooke

BTW - Great job for NOT being a designer!

I tried to look at the third (preferred) choice in N4.7 but get a 404 - I need to shorten it to http://www.todaytech.net/golf/mcc/ and the (excellent!) clip plays and links to the front page - in IE5.5, the full url displays the movie but then won't go anywhere - maybe it's just me - fwiw, I don't have a problem with the fuzzy-edged images - but then my golf game is a little fuzzy around the edges as well - you might even say "rough"

You're right, the third one is definitely the best. About the intro, the text that comes up first is just boring. I want to skip the intro. The part where the logo comes in is quite nice though. That would be okay by itself. The pictures that come in there for a bit are going too fast so you should probably get rid of them.

You say you're not a designer eh? Hmph! This is pretty darned good! Very interesting and unique layout. Interesting that you've stayed away from the typical golf course themes. The site doesn't scream "golf" to me, but subtlety has its virtues.

A few things to fix - The fuzz around the photos needs to go - it conflicts with the crisp square angles of the rest of the design. Also center it the design in the page if you can. The navigation: at the bottom is kind of redundant but I like the way it looks there so might as well keep it. THe logo is a bit small and not very noticable. I wonder if there would be a way to bring it into the rest of the design - it seems kind of separate as it is.
