You can avoid a frameset and just center the flash movie if you want.

Thanks for your replies. I think I'll stick to pixels that seems to be safest.

It really depends on how you want to display your flash though. All that drop down is doing is putting in the height and width attributes in the HTML file. If you're going to put it in a regular browser window you'll probably want to use pixels (percentage would make it stretch in weird ways). You won't be able to get a properly scaled design to fit exactly on all browsers (due to chrome & resolution differences) in this case. About 760 x 425 or smaller is fine for 800 x 600 (or higher) resolutions. You may also have problems in this case with overflow. That's why so many flash sites use pop-ups.

When you want to use a pop-up you would also publish in pixels. The only difference AFAIK between "match movie" and "pixels" is that "pixels" allows you to change the existing pixel dimensions while "match movie" keeps what you designed on. Again, beware of weird stretching.

If you're planning on using fullscreen you'll want to design at a 3:4 ratio (so it won't stretch in weird ways) and then publish at 100% percent. You could use percentages for pop-ups as long as you put no-resize in your new window attributes. That way you could offer the user a choice between fullscreen and pop-up while using the same html file.

Enough typing for today! I hope that all helps - I'm just learning this myself too

I'd say the best size would be 600 pixels in width, and whatever height you want (I'd say 400 pixels). That way it will fit in almost all browser sizes.
