&lt;p&gt;Thanks for your response.  In fact, these are two of the things that I tried and could not get it to work.  Now I understand why.  It works fine in IE, but does not work with NS.  Any idea how to do the same thing so it will work with both IE and NS?  I HATE browser incompatibilities!  Thanks again.&lt;/p&gt;

    <description> &lt;p&gt;You&#039;ll have to use stylesheets - it won&#039;t work in older browsers but that shouldn&#039;t be a problem since almost no one uses them anymore.  Just put this in your header:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If you&#039;ve got more than one table on your page, though, and you just want to apply that colour to one of them, you&#039;ll have to define a class:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Then your table tag will look like this:&lt;/p&gt;
