We solved it

The DSN got corrupted somehow - and recreating it solved the problem.....thank God

I can't find this error code in my SQL Online documentation but it only covers the Microsoft SQL Servers, sounds like maybe you're using something else?

Try pinging the database server to make sure it's active. If you're on a shared database server maybe it was just experiencing some downtime.
