Darn I was Just Kiddin not trying to get flamed to death please note the ( ) in my posts .. Well I apologize for any offense you have taken at my last post.. I have posted a working solution here http://quikads.com/courses/nnprob2.htm you will have to put your images back in and put all your style tags back. Please be sure to validate often as you put the style tags back as I still saw 1 or 2 errors both in the style tags..

one you didn't seem to have.
and i resent the implication that I don't want to do the work! I have worked on this table problem for 4 days straight.
and per your suggestion i have run this(the default page) through a validator and fixed the nesting errors....all of which had to do with font tags and such NOT table tag errors btw.
the anomaly still exists..but i am sure that you cannot be bothered.

DragonJaw: If Cais supplied you with a solution, I'd follow it. I don't think I remember him ever being wrong about a HTML question, especially one that deals with tables. (He's much more conscientious than I about these things.)

So did you come over here to see if you could get a different (involving less work ) answer than over at John's If 10 of us give you 10 different answers I think it will be because the nesting errors in your table are causing inconsistent display problems across the many versions/configurations of NS. If you fix those nesting errors and a problem still remains then at least we would all be working from common ground..

Good to see you I though you had another one of the 60 flashbacks and had gone "walkabout" again, good to see it just ain't true. As for the table I think the reason for the inconsistent display problem is there are several nesting errors in this setup. I won't go into it as I already answered it over at John's just thought I would stop by and give em a hard time about trying to get an answer that suites him instead of just fixin the errors..

Hi dragonsjaw,

Checked it out in both IE and NN, and yes, you're right. The border doesn't display in netscape. What confuses me, though, is why it is displaying in IE. In the last 3 table definitions (the ones you are asking about, I presume), you have 'border=0' which should preclude any borders. So, my question is: Is the border part of the graphic? Or am I missing something really obvious here, like an unclosed table, tr, td tag?
