I've never used Tahoma on a website, but I do use it in emails and on ICQ. Another font I'm starting to like is Blue Highway, though I don't think everyone has it on their computer.

What about "handwritten" fonts? I'm really into those when designing peoples' personal sites.

Ah, tahoma. Slipped my mind. That would top my list, too.

I always use Verdana for websites because I feel it looks best. It's all a matter of opinion though...

For me it depends on the site - for a very casual, friendly style site comic sans would be good. Most of the time I stick with Arial, but sometimes Verdana or Helvetica looks better. Times doesn't usually look good, but for some sites it could be okay (maybe for a very formal site...).

Of course you always have to stick to fonts that most people will have and are readable for plain text. I've been studying typography in class this week - very interesting. I definitely want to read more about it.

For graphic text there are so many fonts to choose from! Some of my favourite font sites are (I hope I'm guessing the URL's right because these bookmarks are at work):

http://www.fontflood.com - they divided their list into lots and lots of categories, so if you have a specific style in mind it's easy to find
http://www.fontfreak.com
http://www.acidfonts.com
http://members.nbci.com/fonts_now/ (Fonts Now)
http://www.dingbatpages.com/index.html (for Dingbats!)

I've never even used half the fonts on my system but it's nice to have the options I guess. I download a lot from the net too - I wish I could find a use for some of them!
