&lt;p&gt;MySQL can be ran on IIS, but it really wasn&#039;t designed for NT servers. I would personally recommend moving the site to a UNIX server if you need perl and mysql and you need both of them to interact.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I have never setup mysql on an NT server so I won&#039;t be much help there, although I have set it up on a personal Win2000 machine which is running a UNIX based web server.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;But, if you are paying for hosting service on a shared server, the chances of you finding or getting your current host to add mysql to their NT servers is pretty slim...&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I hope you do find a solution to your problem.&lt;/p&gt;
