I think it's more that the program is telling you what you don't want to hear Luke. Every Server goes done for various reasons. The question is for how long and how often. Three times in one week for 1 minute each is not so bad. If it's an hour or more each time, then it's time to look for a new Hoster.

Rule of thumb is 99% Uptime allows for approx. 14.5 minutes a day of downtime. This means about 400 - 435 minutes a month of downtime. Or base it on the number of days in that month (or the number of days in the month so far) and you start to get a good picture.

I noticed your-site.com does not mention anything about Uptime, there could be a good reason why. Any Hoster that offers an Uptime Guarentee, ask them to prove it! I know I got fed up with Guarentees of 99.9% percent which means 40 - 43 minutes of downtime per month. I have yet to see a 99.9% Uptime in reality, or have it proven to me by a third-party.

I feel 99% Uptime is more realistic and I'm working on a way to have it verified by a third-party. This way people will know that the Uptime Guarentee provided at Potent Products, is true and verifiable. With everything else getting so competitive in the Hosting market, verifiable Uptime will start to be more & more important. After all, if your Web site is not up, the rest don't matter.
