    <description> &lt;p&gt;I use write() myself, but I&#039;ve tried writeln() and saw no difference either.  That&#039;s why I asked.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;  the &#039;ln&#039; stands for line.&lt;br /&gt;
  writelin() is supposed to write a linefeed (&quot;/n&quot;) at the end of the contents being written. However, I seem to remember having problems with it early on -- like no visible difference -- so I just stopped using it.&lt;/p&gt;
