Megan Jack:
OK

Mike Fisher:
You work too hard. But he sure is of Dutch descent!!
Now I understand what you mean with the little page-thingies. I'll take your comments in considering and discuss it with the agency.

Brooke:
Thanx for liking the nav-hoverings. They sure do look oldish. Gonna try if they'll look modern when I increase the colors from 32 to 64, 128 or 256.
The babyblue is an idea of the agency and I may not alter that.
About the scroller. Gonna try to make it scroll with an Onclick.

Thanx

A couple of things:

I like how the nav hovers - but the buttons seem a little older style. Not really modern looking.

I don't particularly like the baby blue background on the nav bar and on some of the pages.

I agree that the scrolling on the left is distracting but it is a good idea. How about making a pause. Have it scroll through a few then stop for a bit. Then scroll through a few more then stop. That way it isn't distracting, but when it changes it will get people's attention. Just an idea.

That's all...

Brooke

....Helden, Hedon! I need my coffee! They should still have him, he's of Dutch descent!

Ohh.. and about the little Page thingies... I mean those things that look like little sheets on the 'Music' page. [I think that's where they are. The page that lists the DJ's.]

I just think that black is a colour that would be appropriate for a site like this. You know, dark clubs, speakers and dj equipment is usually black (or you could add in a metallic look, but that wouldn't go with what you've got already I think). By fluorescent I meant something like the colours of dance club lights. Or maybe try emulating something that might appear on DJ equipment (but be careful with that!) like flashing lights.

Gee, you guys reply fast today: 4 replies in half an hour. If I shouldn't know better, I would have thought that you have REALLY nothing to do besides hanging out on TWF.

I'm going to answer to every individual reply:
-Justin Stayton:
You're right about the text-thing on the splash page. I was about to change that, but, like I said, the site is only 50% done. The text on the splash-page is part of the other 50%.
The gray part you talk about is an idea of the agency, and I like it. It's like they say: 'something different'.
The scroll thing on the left does serve a purpose. On the one hand visitors can see their idols. (In Holland, Europe, DJ's are like popstars). On the other hand, it is another way to get to the biography, discography and other stuff of the DJs that is going to be added.

-The Graphix Experience:
First of all, I assume you mean Armand Van Helden, not Hedon. The agency doesn't have him because they only want Dutch DJs, and Armand Van Helden is from NYC.
The left scroll thing is not going to be ditched, but is going to be modified in a way that it won't look dumb to you (I hope).
I don't know what you mean with : 'that little page thing', so please explain.
About the music-translation stuff: That's also part of 'the other 50%' (See my reply to Justin)

Megan Jack:
Why do you think the site does not look DJ-ish? In Europe a lot of DJs don't want to be matched with any Techno-kinda things. Fluorescent colours is what we (European) did 5 years and longer ago.
Why does the page-border have to be black? I mean, based on what??? Arguments please.

So that's that. I agree with the logo-thing. It has to appear more often. Gonna change that.
Thanx a lot!!!

Well, the whole branding thing, in my opinion, is a very targetted kind of thing.

See, in the kind of industry that -I- am in [Web Design] I think that instead of branding every single site I should just put up contact information on every page.

Branding has its place, and that's fine.

Quote: ...On a side note... is it just me or does Justin want the entire web to put logos on all of the pages?

That's not necessarily a bad thing- if you look at all the very big sites, e.g. yahoo, ebay, ibm, microsoft, etc. you'll notice that almost all, if not all of them have a logo somewhere near the top of the page. This is to encourage branding, because the more they see a logo, the more they will remember it. Hence, if you had a site domain.com, and your logo was on every page, a customer could easily remember reading something on one of your sub pages by the domain.com logo. However, if you just had the logo on the main page, the customer could quite possibly forget where he or she had read that.

It doesn't look very DJish to me either. The page border should be black instead of grey. The logo also needs to appear somewhere too.

I actually don't have a problem with the scrolling photos. They are kind of distracting though - maybe they could just scroll to one place and then stop. What you could do is use some sort of a cool effect on the photos (like webmonkey does). Something needs to be done to make this have a more techno style look to it. Maybe some bright fluorescent colours with black instead of dark gray, white, an blue.

Aww... they should have Arman Van Hedon!

Anyways, looks alright, except for a few things:
1). Ditch the left scrolling bar, looks dumb.
2). In the book place that little page thing just doesn't look right, I'd say scrap it in favor of something like a bulleted menu.
3). I'd say that you'd like to have something that translates out the music they do a lot better than just pictures. Make some backgrounds that have a Techno [I'm assuming that's what they DJ] feel to them.

...On a side note... is it just me or does Justin want the entire web to put logos on all of the pages?
