Alright, probably you are NOT able to use Granite Canyon. Since you have to fill in an IP, and your account does not come with an unique IP at geocities.

Second, you should try myinternet.com, they do offer a paid dns service, but that's not the one you need. You need the other service (called myinternet) they offer redirection to your geocities account.

Well, AFAIK, myinternet/mydns does require a fee, right?

Well, I really would not like to pay for this since 1)I'm not in US 2)I don't have a credit card 3)I don't expect any revenue from this website to compensate my expenses 4)I would like this to be a practical lesson so that I can screw everything up b4 I begin to pay for stuff and really work on the heavy stuff (yeaah paying hehe).

ps Brian, Granitecanyon provides primary and secondary nameservers, for which each you could write up an SOA (or is it called an RR?) FROM SCRATCH. That's what I really wanna learn...

Hi, I'm not very familiar with the granite canyon system so I'll give you another option:
Use myinternet.com. Simply move your domain to their nameservers, and you will be able to point it fairly easily to your free webspace account.
