Why not just open up a Reseller Account with a host, then make money from the hosting of your clients? Maybe charge them trice as much as the hosting company will sell it to you for...

Thanks for the info. I am very interested in hosting my clients under my account.

I have recently acquired two clients, so hope I have this domain thing in order.

As it stands now, the client pays me the hosting fee upfront and then I open an account in my name for each separate client domain.

What do you think?

I have been using superb.net for some time and really like them. I rarely see them mentioned, don't know why. They are not one of the cheapies, but they are cheaper than Mindspring.

They have reselling, so you have flexibility to host your client's sites right under your own account with their domain (I do this - I point their domain to a directory in my account), or you can sell them their own hosting account (with you being the reseller). Their server performance is usually top notch!

My one complaint, their services are not controlled from an automated panel... you must e-mail your admin requests and orders to them... but even considering that, they respond real fast to all my orders.

Yeah, when I think of large web hosts I think of CommuniTech, CI Host, OLM, WebHosting.com... Not Earthlink or Mindspring. I only think of them in relation to internet access...

Just because the company is large doesn’t mean they’ll offer anything more then a small company per say. Generally ISP’s are well known for high priced web hosting. Mindspring’s is no exception. Mindspring’s also bought out Earthlink, so they are the same company.

If you want “large name” go with a web host such as Webhosting.com, Interland, or CI Host. All three companies have better virtual accounts for considerably less.

Unless you have large files (multimedia, downloads, etc) or databases you really don’t need much space. Most of my small sites can easily be stored on a floppy.

a small biz probably only needs around 5 to 10 mb of disk space. i guess those two would be ok host considering that their hosting probably isn't cheap.
