Hi,
From my experience with Network Solutions, the best way to make DNS changes is to ask you new web hoster to do it for you as you mentioned that this is your first transfer and don't want to make any mistakes.

When your web hoster submit the required forms to change the "DNS" and "Tech Contact" to their server, you will receive an email, just reply to authorize the changes as you are the "admin Contact" and any changes will require your approval. After you approved the changes, allow 48-72 hours for the new DNS to appear at "InterNIC Whois" then you are all set.

Also allow 1-2 days propagation/migration time after the DNS have changed for your website to be able to peak to top performance and be access by anyone.

Regarding the records at Network Solutions Whois, anyone can view it but when making changes, it requires the Domain registrar's control panel(username and password) and in the case of NS, the "Admin Contact" approval before any changes takes effect.

Hope this helps.

No, I use the advanced form.
I'm pretty good with everything but since this is my first transfer, I don't wanna make a mistake and lose any of my visitors.

After submitting the request through Network Solutions (I’m assuming your using the “Beginner Forms”) you’ll receive an automated email response, which you will have to authorize before the DNS will transfer. It usually takes 2 to 3 days for the complete process to take place. It can take considerably longer or shorter in some cases.
