I thought it was quite reserved actually, maybe I am missing something (really-please elaborate).

When a domain name can be bought for $15 or less and at the same time be an effective method of free speech, why not use it to express an opinion?

Yelling fire in a crowded theater is going too far. If the onestopsucks.net site made personal attacks or spouted untruths, that would be going too far.

I merely expressed an opinion. Being aware of the terrible situation that particular domain name registrar has created for many customers, including myself, I thought I could grab attention and direct it toward a positive resource.

Well, so far so good with Dotster! I am very impressed. Two names hit an off-site whois search in less than 48 hours!!!

My miserable experience with onestop (which still drages on w/ 7 pending names) has forced me to learn alot and I am building a resource on the low cost somain subject, but I am still waiting for the domain name

As far as the 4 letter names being hard to come buy, you better believe it!! Anything left is generally undesirable.

are 4 letter domains hard to come by now? I had one I was going to register, but it was a psuedo abbreviation for a two letter word. I didn't find it all that memorable.

For example (the names have been changed to protect the guilty) - if the domain was rubbermonkey.com, my domain was rbmn.com

is this (well, valuable isn't the word I am looking for) - desireable I guess?

In checking some 4 letters, I see that even hard to remember ones are taken, hmmmm.

Well, i've registered a domain with onestop.net a week ago and it's still not registered.

I just wanted to test it's response and now it seems quite clear to me.

Since then i've registered several domains through networksolutions and they've set them up in less than 24 hours.

Ted, what is dotser? Another registar?

NSS, your concern comes through, and there is no reason to be sorry I assure you. My first three domains went through fine... I would have recommended them too if I had stopped there. So please, don't worry about it.

Side note - Everybody else - avoid them! One lost 4 letter dot com, and seven other domains STILL in limbo, just waiting to be taken by other people using other registrars.

I tried dotser today, lets see how they go!!

Yes, doster is another cheapy. Their interface was very nice to use. HOWEVER! I am not endorcing these guys yet I just registered a name with them yesterday and nothings hit the whois yet. I'll post when the registration is complete (or when it goes bad!).

I am really sorry to hear about your problems with Onestop. In fact I was one of them that recommended Onestop . My apologies to you as I never thought that it can cause so many problems. I will be more careful when recommending domain registration in future. I hope all your problems will be solved in due course.
