You don't even need an IP.

Your domain has to be "connected",
but having a valid MX record counts as connected.

So get one of thos free email servers (everyone.net, bigmailbox, etc) and modifiy you MX records as needed.

In fact, you need one IP-Adress and two DNS, primary and secondary. Nobody cares if the host is up or not

Yeah, I'd say that's possible.

1) You need to get DNS Nameservers for your IP Address either through www.ultradns.com or www.granitecanyon.com

2) Install a web server like the Sambar Server (www.sambar.com)

3) Change your domain info to point to your DNS nameservers.

4) Make sure your cable modem provider allows you to do this (which I doubt).
