I recently purchased Drumbeat eCommerce Edition. I found that in order to use it, you DO have to know ASP, and you have to have that programming logic. This wasn't a problem for me, but I though that Drumbeat would make building my sites much more efficient. It's a decent package, but I'd rather use PHP and MySQL.

The interface is just bad. It does make it a lot easier and faster to develope an ASP database as long as you can stand the interface. Note: They do not support html tables. Its something that I never know why they did that...

While I've looked at Drumbeat 2000 (evaluation) I do not use it to do my ASP/database pages since I prefer to do that stuff myself.

It's basically a tool to make developing with ASP and databases easier. It automates much of the programming knowledge needed to do database interactivity in ASP pages. It's still a program you have to learn and it's best to have a general understanding of databases and ASP pages but it's much easier than learning SQL and ASP scripting (VBScript, JavaScript, PerlScript etc).

I've never looked at the e-commerce version but I would imagine it gives you the ability to connect your database to storefronts, shopping carts etc.

I don't really know of any sites using it although I'm sure there's many, you just can't tell.

Regards,
