Just visited www.phong.com Wow, that website does it well! Also the featured spotlight websites in that website also seem to do some really swell stuff.

Don't know if doing it so much would really benefit my type of website. I wanted to go more on the www.gap.com angle. Maybe someone could view that and give me some suggestions.

My idea has been also to use flash only to spice things up...but what about using java in optimal amounts? Most browsers now are enabled, are they not...?

Also the other idea is to have both options (java/flash etc... and also html sections of the site)..but will that put people only viewing html off since they might think they are not getting the real thing, or will it make them feel that this site thinks about them as well...tough issues...!

Yeah! I shall work on the indulge and discover. Maybe a when mouseover a small explanation comes on the side. Will that work?

The navigation inside indulge is agreed a bit cluttered. Any ideas on the streamlining of it? I might have to do some java bits there...eh?

Wanted a suggestion - What is good? Keeping the site in html or taking it up to macromedia shocked? What works in terms of getting more visitors ssatisfied?

But Flash is one of the most common plugins now (only at about 68% now though). IMO, this is one plug-in that people should get if they don't have it already.

I would say go with whichever suits your purpose best. I'm not an e-commerce expert, but I would guess that flash isn't the best tool for the job in this case. It might be easier to keep things updated and run the e-commerce programming with HTML. You could, however, choose to use a Flashed splash page, or some small embedded animations to spice things up ( http://www.phong.com does this well)

The first thing I do when I reach a site that tells me I need a plug-in (of any sort) is to immediately click on the BACK button. It's almost as nauseating as telling me that I ought to be viewing in x by y resolution with a particular browser (usually a clear indication that the 'designer' didn't understand that cross-browser, any-resolution, design is a requirement).

Stick with your present mix of html/script.

I think your site looks kind of plain. Add some more colors. Add lively colors not those dull faded greenish ones.

I also get confused. I get to the index page and don't know what to do. Help! You should also fix up your logo a bit.

You could, on the other hand, assume that your target audience knows what Pashmina is (anyone who reads the fashion magazines would know - not many others will be willing to pay for it anyway).

The design of the front page would be very nice, without all those extra buttons on there. Lose those security buttons and just put a link to a security statement or something like that.

Looking at this I don't really understand the difference between indulge and discover. That needs to be more clear.

Now that I've clicked on "indulge", I see three different navigation menus. that should probably be streamlined - a lot. You also need to fix it so that the left menu is in the exact same place on every page (it's jumping around for me)

It's interesting how this is a very simple design but it works well and it looks really good. I think you do need a better logo though.

Thanks guys! I will start the work on all the points you mentioned. I myself have not been happy about the frontpage since it does not have the photographs.

Know anywhere where I can get better visa/mastercard images?

The thumbnails for the colours was something I tried earlier but gave up when I had to take so many photographs and the colours also change...any ideas?

Please keep the comments flowing...will work on every bit of it...

1)your links can be more distinctive..I dont like the white behind some of them and i dont like the fact they are noticable..There are no underlines or signs that show some of the links are links...if that made sense
2)Visa and mastercard are not quality like that one guy said
3)Could use some work..Good start!
