It's supposed to be clean and businesslike, without the bells and whislte, it's purpsoe is for information...what do I do, how much, and how do they contact me...period. I may possibly put back the rollovers for the top nav instead of text, however I don't want this to be graphics heavy.

Regarding the links; maybe I need to change the color but underling links is a thing of the past as is the old default blue.

I can't do anything abour the server right now, and yes I have registered a domain with Internic, but need 70 buck first, I have my firt client and that's where that $$ will go.

Roo, the site as is is way too plain... I know you said you were looking for a clean business look, but this is just too plain- you don't need graphics to make your pages look good, you can make use of color in tables. Also, I agree that a web design site should be your best work, demonstrating all your capabilities. The client should be saying "wow" and be dazzled enough at the quality of your work to contact you with their project. Leaving the site as is, I'm afraid that will probably not happen. There are increasingly more and more web designers popping up, and you really need to stand out to suceed.

I don't like it at all. Navagation is real bad. Also when it says "Make Saphire Your Choice" Make Saphire is on one line and Your Choice is on another. I don't like that.

If you are going to be a company get a domain! The big BizLand thing on top looks bad and it takes away from your site making your visitors think that you are too cheap to buy a domain.

The links blend in to much. You can't tell that they are links is what I mean. Make a mouseover effect or something as you guys know I like those.

As they stated it is very very plain. I like your logo but it is blurry. I also don't care for the colors. They are plain like the site.

Wow that ended up being pretty long. Thanks for listening to my opinions!

I agree with everyone here and just want to add, that I don't think you should use your big main logo on everypage. A smaller version or just the text Sapphire Design up in a corner would be nice. I like it when the home page has just a bit of a different look than the rest of the pages.

Roo,

Personally I don't like the computer and mouse image and the fact that you repeat it in all pages. I agree with the above posts and obviously the site needs to be professional looking but it also needs to reflect your abilities as a designer. The site over all seems a bit "Ho Hum" balh...

Also you HAVE to find a host that has no banner ads!!!!!!! There is nothing that will ruin a site faster than a banner ad placed there by the host. Plus I know how you are about load time and in my experience banner ads just slow everything down. I know your pages are light on the load but one of your pages took forever to load because of the banner.

I agree! You have to use this site to give your potential client an impression of what the web can do. Clients are most likely newbies or casual internet users. They are easily amused.

More excitement is definitely needed. Mouseovers would be good, or more colour.

You also need a better, smaller logo. The one you have is just big and bulky - kind of gives me the impression that you need something to take up space on the pages. The cutout and blur looks weird too.

1) I agree, the site is WAY too plain. Although you are a business, and you do want to have a professional look, there is nothing wrong with using graphics. They could really help your page and navigation system.

2) The site is really empty. I know you don't have much to display, but you can definatly do better than a paragraph of text on each page.

3) Your website is supposed to bring out all your talents. It should be your BEST work. Looking at the other sites you designed, I don't think it is.

4) The navigation is, er, blah. You need at least some type of rollover/css. You need to spice it up!

5) You charge $15 per e-mail you reply to for tech support? That's just crazy

Overall I think you need a new design...

ok here are a few words of advice;

1) Make your links more distinctive. Many people who are looking for sites to have made are not to smart on the computer and would not know what a link looks like unless its underlined. If you going to go with the non-underline effect, throw some rollover on it or something to make it more appealing.
2)If you are going to do websites for people, a professional look is very important. Hosting your site where it is, is not that professional. Banners all over you site is not appealing to the veiwer. You could find many hosting companies with cheap rates. Also i would recommend maybe a domain name but thats up to you. If not, a host can provide you with a sub-domain.
3) I think you have some good ideas and good graphics, you just need to expand on them and place them differently. Also deffinitly get rid of the banner.

Great start though!!
