But I hope to get Adobe Photoshop when I get my new machine (I dont think My 486 with 15Mb free HDD Space could hack it )

A couple of things:

I agree with everything Megs said.

Yes, you can have fonts on the server and load them from there so that people can see the font you want them to see even if it's not installed. However, that means downloading the font with the rest of the page. That greatly increases loading times since most fonts are well over 50K. Generally, it's not worth it, especially if you factor in that most fonts are copyrighted and that raises some legal issues. If you really want to proceed, do a web search for "embedded fonts". A better solution is to use a standard, common font like arial or times or helvetica or whatever you prefer for the majority of the site. For stuff like navigational menus, if you absolutely must have some special font, you're better off creating a few small .jpg or .gif images with the words you need done in that font. 10 1K gifs is a lot less intrusive than forcing a 60K embedded font download.

And before you get too into this site, definitely move it off xoom. It's a lot better to change hosts now before sites start linking to that URL and search engines start indexing it. Try http://www.virtualave.net I was with them for quite a while before I moved into my own domain and they're a lot better than 99.9% of the other free hosts.

In my oppinion,
you should try to consider putting a text link in your splash page. like for example, some web surfers wouldn't know where to click in order to enter your site.

Malte I do know what tables are but I DONT like them, I know thay are better because they are suported in all brosers.

What is this mozilla button?

And are there any fonts that are starnded that actualy look good?

or is there a way of having the font on the server and loading it from there?

If you are going to use frames for a navigation make that frame non-scrollable at the prize of pissing off people at low resolutions who wont be ablt to see all menu points.

If you want to make the nav bar shorter, just leave out the IE button. MS doesnt need any free help. Better put a Mozilla button there.

You should under no cirsumstances use frames for the content pages. Seems like you use them cuz you dont knoe what tables are. But tables are more appropriate for that application.

Its a common mistake for beginners to use fonts which are not widely support. Comic Sans is one of these. I would suggest to use either "Arial, Helvetica" or Times, so everybody gets a chance to see the pages the way you intended.

I'm using frames because it seams to load faster and also i'm going to add a bog download page for stuff. so the sid meny is going to get longer.

how dows this ommouseover work?

And anyone sugest a better font?

and any free servers other than xoom, you have to pay extra for a sight at my ISP

Yeah- looks pretty cool. I agree mith megs, 'cause you have no real reason to use frames. BTW- I didn't have to resize my browser to see the scroll bars.
