Hmmm- it's ok.

NON-DESIGN ISSUES:

1) Your motto is, er, not very original. I would probably come up with a new one. Your piggybacking MS.

2) It's really really messed up in NS. Most of it doesn't even show up.

3) It's true that almost ALL portals don't survive unless you have LOTS of money. And I mean 1 Million+

OK, BACK TO THE DESIGN:

1) Logo is getting better, but it's still a little plain.

2) You have a black line on the top of the part where an ad is going to go, but not over the G. I would take that top line away.

3) You also have a slight shadow around your menu part, but not on the part for the logo. I would make a shadow around everything.

Whoah, that's a lot of content you're planning. That's a big committment for something that may not be successful - I read somwehere that new portals don't really gain many regular users because Yahoo etc. are already extremely well established in that area. It would be cool to allow people to add their own recommendations. That would be a good idea.

Anyway, I'm not thrilled about your colour choices here either. The design itself is okay, but I don't like the pale yellow on the side either. That pale yellow part should extend all the way down the page too. Unless you're putting ads underneath it.

it looks a bit empty on the left and right, but apart from that, the only think i dont like is that yellow you use on the left!

In IE it's not bad, in netscape it looks horrible! You're going to need to make it cross browser compatible.

It looks good. It takes a while to load though. The left side looks empty though. Find something that could fill that up. The colors are pretty good. That G thing looks ok too. Nice work.
