A table width of 700 or 800 will cause you problems. If you have a table width of 590, it will fit all resolutions, though get narrower as the resolution gets higher.

If you choose a fixed width table, and if possible, make it align=center to ease the burden of The Great Leftness for those at higher resolutions.

With relative tables, you have to have your graphics, if any, set up properly, and there are other tweaks. I have a number of troubleshooting tips for all kinds of relative tables (percentages) on my Tables DeMystified page (see my sig) that may help.

Cheers,

So you think i should use percentage rather then absolute value? It seems whenever i use table percentages all my tables within tables get all sloppy? You dont think a table width of like 700 or 800 would be just as good?

The best thing to do with your tables is to use percentage widths instead of absolute widths. That way it just expands for all resolutions. You set the TABLE WIDTH=100%, the first cell can be an absolute or percentage value, but the width of the main content area is left blank so it expands to fit the browser window.

It doesn't look like you've really thought about your colour scheme here. You have two major design elements here - the title bar at the top and the sidebar menu. Either would look good on their own, but they don't go well together. Simply extending the black up into the white part of the title might work.

Now, since this site is for a product/service, you need to let people know a) where your product is available and b) how to get it.

Oh - put a title at the top of every page so people know where they are.

Thanks for you comments. What do you all think a good table width would be to use? I am actually totally redesigning the site to offer e-commerce. Whats a good table width? Also does anyone have any ideas to keep the tables in the same place that i see when im working on them in dreamweaver. It seems whenever i preview in a browser they all get messed up. Thanks for all your help. I am open for anymore comments.

the layout is ok. I think the colors could be worked on. I cant quiet think of what it is but they just dont seem right (maybe its the black?) but something seems out of place.

maybe try a different font for the text?

 Hope that helped

Just a few thoughts.

The table width of 752 is a strange choice. Lots of people still work to a 480 by 640 size screen. You may want to consider a narrower table to avoid the need for visitors to scroll horizontally if their monitor res is low.

Check the spacing of some vertical elements. Try viewing your page with text size set to maximum and minimum that your browser will allow. Not everybody views with the same text size setting.

The marquee gif seems a bit of a waste .. it only seems to animate once through its loop (unless I didn't stay long enough).

You might consider making the menu option images a little bigger so they are easier to read
