BTW, feel free to comment on my personal site that's also listed above under my 'name'. Please note though that I'm almost finished with the latest update save for some tweaking and a few additional things I need to add. It's taken me over a month to do and I'm happy with it as it is now. (okay so in 3 months I'll hate it

Anyway it's a personal site that reflects me and my family, but I'd be interesed in your comments. I also an extremley active in the WPTS BBS and I find that the comments help me grow in my skills.

Geez the images should pre-load, lemme take a look, like I said my server really gets sucky at times, like for the last few days when I've tried to connect, I get a 'not answering' message.
Yeah actually I've messed with losing the middle image...........it's all too..........boxy? (for lack of a better way to describe it.) The first version looked okay with it becuase I had no image or colors in the tables, so it was light gray text against the dark blue background. (Hard on the eyes.) Since adding the color to the tables, it looks more professional? Which has now thrown off the nav bar. I'm aiming for a polished look that is unique, I refuse to be a clone of what I see so much of.........ths same old.........same old..........ya know? I may end up with something completly different, who knows? I also am torn becuase I lovvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeee the beveled text look,however I do think that a professional site always looks cleaner, and more professional with just plain old flat text images. I won't use just text becuase of the font limitations imposed by browsers. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh..............this is turning out to be a challange!

I have a suggestion for the nav bar, take out the big picture in middle, and just leave links. It leaves the nav bar off centered and awkward. For me, the images for the onmouseover weren't preloaded, you should preload them so their isn't a pause. Also, I don't think splash should be a link. It should just be there to get you started.

I got the Web TV viewer link from someone on another crituqe board. You can download it here:

But.........Be prepared!. Things look mighty sucky on web-tv. There isn't much you can do about it. I use it just to see what those who use it see, so I can explain how things should be. I have a family section within my main site and several family members who use Web TV, that's why I use it. Web TV I guess has limited color soooooooooooo things look baaaaaaaaaadddddddddd.

Back on track, yeah I'm considering maybe trashing the splash page. I really personally don't like them becuase I hate the extra useless click. I have a a projected goal of end of Jan. beginning of Feb. to get this site developed, on a server, and all. Guess it's a good thing huh? After holdiday I'l be able to focus better on things, that nav bar is bugging me, I'm torn........I like it but my gut tells me it just doesn't work.

Where did you get a web tv viewer? Interesting. I would also get rid of the splash page- there is no reason to have one.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm............wonder why mouseovers don't work for you. They are fine for me on both NN4.7 and IE 4.72. I even have a web TV viewer that I test with. Could be my server is slow it very often is. Could you elaborate more on why it isn't clear that you have to click the homepage? I mean the button says 'home'. If I keep the splash page the 'real' version will most likly have text links on the bottom..........although I can't imagine why anyone searching for a web designer would have images turned off.

Its not clear that you have to click on the homepage button to leave the splash page.

Yes- nav. bar doesn't seem right. Nice- but looks old fashioned. If thats what you were going for then you did a great job. Personally I don't like old fashioned looking sites. Anyway- good job.
