The 404 error merely means that an index file is not found. They may also be waiting for your payment to clear before creating the account. If the former is correct, that doesn't mean that your site doesn't exist. This would seem like normal operating procedure to me.

i have signed with olm.net but have some questions.

my account will be activated after my payment (money order) but my domain is already transferred. it does not point to my current site (404 error). they told me that they can put a "under construction page" after my payment.

is it the way the hosting companies go?

Well they give you a big comparison chart with a (x) for what comes with the package. However, with some of the features it merely means enabled, additional fee to activate. Thats what I meant. Also they don't offer you some options on lower accounts. I.e. domain redirection accept on th webmaster account. You can't even request it on the lower ones. Just things like that. They aren't the most flexible plans.

that is generally what an "option" means. Available for an additional fee. You may have confused this with "included"?

Regardless, I know what you mean about the extra fees. From everything I have read/heard they are great.

yeah, I've used them. I'd still be ther if it wasn't for the prices. Watch out about what your really getting with your acount. Many of the so called options merely mean avaliable and are activated with an additional fee.

Hi,
I used them about a year ago! Their support etc was quite good! But the one thing that impressed me was in the whole year I was with them, the server never went down (to my recolection).
