i also think i like them alot, but i would like some input, if you think im wrong please tell me.

by the way, i have ruled out communitech since they are known for shutting down accounts that are used to their full potential.

You have to pay a fee for every sub-domain you want. Great tech support. They have very fast replies.

i like virtual-cities.net because i know they have good customer support.

I will soon be moving onto a dedicated server(sept), probably with the same company that host me and i would like that transition to be as smooth as possible.

I talk often to the owner of virtual-cities.net, and every question i ask he answers and he calls me sir. It is a small company but it still has 300+ virtual hosting accounts which are active, and they are very well known for their customer support. the only thing is that they charge a little higher than CT or Burst, im getting
500mb space
15GB bandwidth for $45
But he will personally supervise the transition of my account from virtual to dedicated hosting!!!

What do you think?

Any host suggestions are welcome as long as the fit the criteria

BRIAN: Hmm- well I guess I learn new stuff every day Brian. Thanks for that info.

ADAM: Really? That's never happened to me. Just a few days ago (saturday) I got them to install three (3) perl modules, and one of them they had to go search for. I was suprised

DOUBLE OK: Since you're going to be running some pretty heavy duty CGI scripts, I would go for a dedicated server. 'Cause most likely one of the hosts you choose will kick you off for using too many system resources. In the long run I think you'd be much happier with a dedicated server.

i would also like a host that allows more than 5 of the same script to be run at the same time as i would be installing UBB-like scripts.

i have heard of communitech not offering this.

Brian:

Yes, you are correct. But, Site5 is no longer affiliated with BurstNET. They moved out about a week ago or sooner.

Actually, Justin, the servers for both BurstNET and Site 5 are located in the VDI.NET facility. BurstNET doesn't own it or have direct access to the servers unless they go to the VDI facility. However, unless I am mistaken Site 5 leases its servers directly from BurstNET for a cheaper price, because they must have some sort of deal with VDI. In any case, both companies should be able to admin the servers remotely.

Justin:

Correction on Site5. They have 3 dedicated servers. They are not in the BurstNET area of the VDI Noc. They are now moved out of the BurstNET area.

Site5, is who I use. They are good. Matt Lightner is awesome. I even like the look of there website. I say go with Site5. I am going to use them for a couple of other sites.
