Unfortunately, what you're asking for is impossible by definition. It's really common sense. You want to pay under $15/month and "no hidden fees" for hosting which includes unlimited traffic and disk space. Your web host must provide disk space (via hard drives) and traffic (via network connections). Both hard drives and network connections can only handle a finite amount of data. Both are quite expensive, especially network connections. No company in their right mind will charge a flat fee in return for services which do not cost them a flat fee. In other words, any company which claims to offer this is either:

a) Insane, and will shortly go bankrupt.

b) Lying to you. They will not provide what they promise; once you start using too much disk space/bandwidth, your website will mysteriously disappear.

One answer that I've heard to this argument is that their site won't get big enough to cause their host to kick them off. This is often true; in that case, why do you need unlimited traffic/disk space? Also, if you realize that a host is dishonest, do you still want to do business with them?

I can recommend two hosts which are reliable and honest: http://www.pair.com (I have very good personal experience with them, though tech support is a bit slow) and http://www.futurequest.net/ (Never tried them, but personally recommended to me). You'll probably find that they're a little pricier than hosts like ICOM - this is simply because they are charging you for what you will actually get, not what they promise you'll get.

please don't consider going to interspeed.net. i'm currently hosted with them and i'm very disappointed, because of:

- the server is often down during the last few weeks
- problems logging in to my ftp account
- some mails i'm still missing (friends sent them and i never got them)
- lousy customer service (you write about 5 mails, then after a week or so you get a message that they are trying to answer in a few days which never happened until this day...)

i'm currently considering moving to dreamhost.com. is anybody hosted with them and could give me some lines about their experiences?

check out interland.net, they're not the cheapest or the must feature rich, but if you give them a toll free call they'll tell you exactly what is and what isn't allowed and so on, no mysteries.
