I just wanted to say thank you to those of you who have given suggestions. As it turns out, the client chose another designer who is skilled in Lotus Notes. They told me that the site he has created isn't quite as nice as the one I did for them (yeah right... whatever) but it will be easier for their staff to use and modify it.

I will take this as a learning experience and, in the future, I will be sure to ask if there is a preferred format or code that they desire. Or, if I had any sense, I would stop starting projects for people without getting an advance startup fee or something to compensate me for my time. Sometimes I am in such a hurry to "earn or win" the job, that I will crank out an example site to give them an idea of what I could do for them without asking for a setup fee or whatever. Well, you know the result of that don't you? Maybe one of these days I'll learn. Maybe.

But thanks again for the responses. I really do appreciate the wealth of knowledge and support that I receive from this site. The combined insight and experience of all of the visitors here makes for an excellent knowledge base that continues to grow and grow. I can't imagine being without this site. Thank you all.

Lotus and Domino are completely different from FP. More complex, and less agreeable with Netscape. I honestly doubt you will be able to take a site created with Front Page and import it into Domino. I am betting that you will have to recreate the entire site. Small example is in tables, FP works in % and pixels. Domino works with inches. If you have tables/inside of tables/inside of tables. This could be a real headache. If you have no complicated forms, or limited forms that you will not mind recreating in Domino you could pass through html for the rest of the site. This will not work for frames. Your client should have requested Notes from the start of design. He should also be the one to purchase, Notes, Domino, and Designer.

Good luck with this project.

Hi,

Evidently Lotus Notes has some sort of HTML generator. In all likelihood, it can't be any worse than Front Page's Just remember to click all appropriate options.
