&lt;p&gt;   The easiest solution to your problem is to copy the good file to a temporary/working directory on your hard drive.  Then, if you mess anything up, you always have the originals to fall back on.  [This is common coding practice in the &#039;real world&#039; and it works -- always copy and modify rather than start from scratch; it saves time and money]&lt;/p&gt;
