As the others said with the small graphics in the corners.
But if you make the quarter circles transparent and the rest of the image the same as your background colour then you can use the corners on many different tables with different table background colours,
without haveing to make different coloured circles for each diffeent coloured table

In PI, Suzanna, just make a circle twice the size of the corner you need (for a 10X10 corner, make a 20X20 circle) using the path tool. Merge, then use the square selection tool (set to 10X10) and pump up the zoom (+ key) so you can see the pixels. Place the selection so that the colour is right on the outsides and then crop (ctrl-r).

Save.

Undo, use the pointer to move the selection, crop, save. Do this for each corner.

OR

Rotate image and save in all four directions.

hth,

Hi cds,

Thanks for the advise also. I use PhotoImpact and sometimes PSP, but I'll see what I can come up with. The technique is different and I'd like to see if I can do it. Thanks again!

Suzanna,

Just a little tip, use a program like Illustrator or Corel where you can create the rounded corners using vector graphics and then import them into PS or what ever. That will give you a very smooth corner.

Not sure how others make them, but i start with a square the same color as my background, draw a circle in it. I then export to PS or Photo Impact and slice it into 1/4's and resize to the dimensions I want

Suzanna,

If you look closely at the code, or right click the very corner of the curved part you'll see that they used gif files to make the corners (curve_top.gif and tancorner.gif).

It's an interesting look.

***edited to say- I didn't copy Brooke's answer, she types faster than I do! ***

The rounded corners are actually little graphics that they put in the corners. The table itself is still square.

To see what I mean, right click on one of the corners and save the image to see what it looks like. It's basically a little rounded triangle.
