&lt;p&gt; You have 2 options:&lt;br /&gt;
 1) call a function that executes both desired effects; or,&lt;br /&gt;
 2) onMouseOut=&quot;MM_swapImgRestore(); window.status=&#039;blahblah&#039;;return truel&quot; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;onMouseOver would be the same.  The only thing you would need to watch out for are the quotes (single within double).  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;  If you use the second method for inline javascript (if/else statements, etc), it is usually a good idea to preface the code with the keyword &quot;javascript:&quot; as in:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;   onBlur=&quot;javascript:if(something)dothis();else dothat();&quot;&lt;/p&gt;
