Hi,

Place the gif in a division (layer) then
call a function passing the url you want to go to. The function should move the gif before executing the location.href

If you want to see how to move divisions, check out the "Moving Self-Closing Layers" script at my site: http://members.aol.com/grassblad

Sounds like you would need layers for this, which is out o my league if you want the script cross browser...
