I just asked about the bgcolor attribute for the table tag because if it worked in Netscape I could eliminate one of the nested tables - this would make my site easier to put together.

If I finish off a demo page for this project, could I get someone to try it out in IE3 and NN3? I don't have access to these browsers.

N2 IE3 support nested tables but if you place javscript inside nested tables in N3 you might experience troubles.

In theory N3+ does support coloured tables but even N4x has many troubles with this. It is really a matter of playing with your code till it works...

I have recently designed a website that uses nested tables to align menus and other content in the correct positions. The HTML I have used requires three tables within each other. eg. A table inside a table which is inside a table!

What I need to know is which browsers will support nested tables? I have only tested the site on IE4, IE5 & NN4 and they work fine. Would IE3 & NN3 experience problems?

Off topic - why doesn't Netscape support the bgcolor attribute with the <table> tag?

I would say N3 and IE3 for the table colspan etc. Not sure though...
