We like to use ULEAD Smart Saver Pro. It is a very flexible program that gives you control over your final file size.

Yes Jeffrey,
I think a lot of people will benifit from this post
I may try the gif cruncher myself.
I would just like to add one thing:
when people work with the images in photoshop/PSP, it's best to work with millions of colors first then save as a gif. --- some people reduce the colors while they're working or edit gifs with the smaller palate and they get poor results look bitmapped/bad.
I've reduced images to 16 colors (at the very end) to make them small too -- only works with solid color graphics.

take care,

I have begun making animated gifs,a nd it is a lot of fun. I want to use them as wallpaper on some pages. However, I find that Netscape won't do this for me. Netscape will take jpg's and gif's as wallpaper, but not animated ones. Do you know what the problem is?
Thanks!
