It has been a few days since you posted your question but I just found this forum yesterday. Have I got a website for you to check out! I stumbled across this site about 2 weeks ago and have been impressed!

I compress my static and compressed right to the edge of appreciable quality loss and have always figured I was pretty good at it. But, GifCruncher managed to sqweek a bit more from my images with no visual quality loss.

So, I would highly suggest you check this site out:

http://gifcruncher.com/

I can vouch for GifCruncher being a good program, I used to have a free version on the WN? site, but am currently redoing that section.

Ulead's Gif Animator has an optimization command. (F11 is the shortcut). You don't have to have created the animated gif in Ulead. It's fine to make it in another program and then use Ulead only for optimization. Last time I checked, Ulead had a freeware version.

Designers....

I use Adobe ImageReady and I was wondering if ANYONE had some tips on optimizing animated gifs to bring the file size down. I am able to "crunch it" but I still believe it could be smaller? Are there some tricks that can be applied to the layers themselves BEFORE optimization?

Thanks For the Time
