Gimp is good, I'll admit, but I have been addicted to PSP (and I have many more powerful programs now) I just always come back to PSP for the little things/Gif animator.

Hi,

to break the PSP-Hype a little:
PSP sucks.
I had to use PSP in University-Times and I didn't like it.
Try GIMP http://www.gimp.org/ instead.
It has all PSP-Features and some more. And it's free (not cheap). And it's faster. And the scripting (script-fu) is very cool.

But, even if you keep using PSP:
Try the tutorials at gimp.org, they are great.

I have Fireworks as well. It works very well in conjunction with Freehand in which I draw up the template.

I am just starting to learn now too and found that Fireworks is a great program for graphics. It can make fairly complex graphics pretty easily and doing the rollovers is a breeze.

However, it is an expensive program but you can download a 30 day free trial at http://www.macromedia.com

When I started i would just surf the net and look for things i thought were "cool" and then try to re-create them in my own way. It just takes some practice and patience! Good luck! I felt the same way you do!

Hi Cyberdog,
Sure I'll help, no problem, though only a quick response as I am off to work

- The water refection effect is Java enabled so head over to say Gamelan.com or just go to AltaVista and type 'java water refection' or somthing, that should get you that applet.

- The image rollover is JavaScript powered. So that will be javascripts.com lokking for image rollover or once again just go to AltaVista and type 'image rollover javascript effect'or somthing, that should get you that script.

- for the rest clipart.com has hundreds of resources.

Just thought I would take a sec to praise PSP. A top program, cheap, efficient and even comes with a very good animation program. Did I mention it was cheap
