I don’t know much about Dreamcast however I have done quit a bit of testing and some research on Web TV.

Over the summer I had a small company based in Vermont that had 60+ agents based throughout the United States and the UK. They basically wanted an intranet site with bulletin boards, billing forms, etc. It was pretty simple except for the fact that 80% of their team was using Web TV.

Web TV has actually put together a pretty good developer site. http://developer.webtv.com They also have a downloadable viewer that simulates Web TV. It’s actually interesting to test all with it. http://developer.webtv.net/design/tools/viewer/

Web TV handles forms fine, so any kind of server side application works okay. It’s really client side programs that are limited. Web TV supports JavaScript, but in a very limited way. Microsoft’s developer web site also has some good information on Web TV.

Good luck..

cgi is server side scripting. The server handle the script not the browser. Your cgi scipt should work with Dreamcasts and WebTV.

Both Dreamcasts and WebTv act differently then IE and NS. I do not have webtv but dreamcasts will not work with flash and the latest greatest htm/css/etc codes.
