<p>PERL is computer language that can be used to make all kinds of nifty programs. On the Internet, it works as a server/client platform, that means that the information has to travel back and forth between the user and the server. Instead, DHTML does not have that capability, once is downloaded into your browser, you interact with it locally; DHTML is used more for designing not for programming. JAVA could be used as PERL in some cases, but doesn't have wide spread acceptace as PERL does. JAVA is supposed to have a lot of potential but it hasn't demonstrated it yet.</p>
