&lt;p&gt;it would be good to know which program produced this error and what kind of file was read.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If its from a form input and you use a cgi script, I would say, because this message looks like a good programmer is behind the script that you used cgi.pm or cgi-lib.pl&lt;/p&gt;

    <description> &lt;p&gt;maybe there&#039;s something wrong with any data your program has to work with....&lt;br /&gt;
best is to check if all input data is correct (format, size blah, blah)&lt;br /&gt;
parsing means analyzing or restructuring...&lt;br /&gt;
best check your script again if some data gets lost in the way to the subroutine that produces the error message&lt;br /&gt;
