Windows XP all over, I had SuSE linux for a while but never really used it. If only it ran DW, PS, and Half-Life

I got locked in one of those update loops. You know what I mean, probably. My Windows 10 would start an automatic update, then fail, and then reset itself to a previous version. This would happen all of the time.

I eventually decided to back everything up on an external drive and simply reinstall Windows 10 from scratch. Then I found out that the CD (or maybe it is a DVD) was lost in our move. I have the ("OEM"?) sticker but the actual product CD has been lost in the move and I can not find it. Does anyone know how I can reinstall the OS with just the product ID etc.?

So I tried the option on this page that uses

"net stop wuauserv"
and
"net stop bits"

and for a while, I thought I was successful in stopping the update cycle.

But I was wrong. It came back and the computer was again performing an update only to, at the end of the update cycle, automatically reset the OS to en earlier version after it recognized an error.

So, now I am at the point where I want to find a way to back up my system (I have already done this with one of those high capacity external drives) and installing a fresh Operating System. But this takes me back to the problem of not having the CD. Is there some way of doing this with using a USB Thumb Drive? Please advise. Also, what sorts of things do I need to look out for? I imagine I should also back up the registry.

The laptop keep saying "password is incorrect" during login. It is a backup machine that is not used frequently. I remembered the password I input is the right one. Don't know why the error pops up after update. Is this a common case?

Hello everybody, i have a LCD monitor. I connect it into my laptop.
I don't understand why when i change the electric like: turn off or turn on the light, my LCD turn off for 1 - 2 seconds. Then it turns on again (automatically). This happens many times. I really don't understand why. Someone knows about this error?

FTP problems

For something like a year now I have been having troubles using ftp. I have tried using different programs and the same problem continued. I have contacted godaddy and they said that everything was working fine. Now I contacted my internet provider and have spent another wasted hour with them and they claim there are no blocks on my router. I have checked my firewall and the programs are not being blocked.

Yet, I cannot transfer files again, meaning it has been working on and off for like a year. I am connecting (or appearing to be connected) to my website but when I transfer the file (and it says it was a successful transfer!) there are no edit changes showing up!

I am so frustrated. I don't understand what the problem is. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Help! A friend of mine has a laptop, but can't use it because she doesn't have the password. The laptop is an HP 672-260US, running Windows 7, and it boots up quickly.

However...after attempting to log in several times with "guessed" passwords, Win 7 gave a message to use a password reset disk. However, when I went to the MS site to dowload the files to create the disk, I learned that I had to know what the original password was.

Is there a way to create a new password (or password disk) to get into the Windows OS? Is there a program I can download, maybe?

The 32 bit Vista was installed by mistake. My system can handle a 64 bit OS. Now I have finally found the time to upgrade. But the 64 bit intallation DVD can't be read from my OS. Any Advice?

May I like if a new laptop battery need to be charged for 8 hours at the first time? I just changed a new bettery to my laptop. At the very first time, I saw the new battery can last 1.5hours so I just use to it without charging. Later-on it off automatically so immediately, I plugin and charge.
