I had a friend of mine register a domain through yahoo. It cost him $35 US to register a domain name. I told him that after the fact that I could have registered it for him for $8.95. I am going to do his hosting for him but he has found out that Yahoo will charge him $25 to move his account.

Hello Everyone,

I've been on the search for a Managed Drupal Hosting Provider (I'm not familiar with server settings etc). The most prominent ones seem to be Pantheon and Acquia. Both offer Drupal specific features, with Acquia being the more enterprise solution, hence very expensive. On the other hand, Pantheon seems to be geared towards agencies, making them an expensive solution as well. Being an individual like myself, both of these aren't ideal.

So while looking for a cheaper managed hosting provider I came across Cloudways. Their pricing seems to be quite good and the reviews they have got are generally quite good as well. The UI seems quite attractive as well.

So my question is whether anyone here as tried Cloudways before and what their opinions of it are?

So I recently moved host, but my old webhost still has the relevant data and databases.

Unfortunately the old webhost contains a Wordpress installation (using Updraftplus) that is running automatic backups to my Google Drive. It is doing it even after I changed the main domain's namesevers to point to the new webhost.

Is there a way for me to disable the site at the old webhost using my own cPanel?

Best way to update cPanel main IP

We have had this particular server running for quite some time without any issues until today. We were just informed that we were the target of a DDOS attack and as a result, the datacenter has null routed the IP address in question. This IP address was not only our main IP address, but also the main shared IP for the shared hosting accounts.

If we were to pick another IP address in our pool to act as both the main IP and the new shared IP (Or split them up even), what would be the best way to change this in cPanel? I know we can set the new shared IP in the basic setup area in WHM, but I'm not sure how to tell cPanel to use a different IP as its "main" IP.

Hi,

Following are the mysql Errors that i face during creating the mysql database permissions and user permissions for database.

Database User Permissions

Code:

and the following are the Error that appear while Making a database backup file within the VPS.

I try run via root mysql_upgrade -u root -p then entering password and its showing the following results like.

and nothing happen.

Note: i use Webmin panel 1.620 for all of this actions to creating database permissions etc

Can not connect to VPS using SFTP or ssh

I have centos linux VPS hosting. I try to connect my server through SFTP with winscp but I get this error message:
I am also unable to use putty.
Was working fine earlier but probably blocked me due to repeated wrong password connection attempts.
I can login to solusvm cpanel. I can also start a console session in soluslabs panel.
I can also connect via CPanel WHM

server is online at the moment
using SSH on the standard port (22)
I also tried the command http://server.hostname.com:2086/scri...safesshrestart
Did not help.

I tried rebooting several times but it didn't solved the problem...

Any other ideas?

If you like secure yout Plesk Panel using a SSL you may follow these steps.

Note that these instructions are for pleask panel 10.x.

Login to your plesk admin cp.
Tools & Settings > SSL Certificates
ADD SSL certificate
Enter certificate name, enter settings info, click on Request button.
Copy the CSR, use it to generate the SSL.
Once SSL generated, download it for PLESK.
Under Upload Certificate Files for Certificate browse and select the certificate file. For CA Certificate browse and select the gd_bundle certificate file.
Click on Send File button.
Tools & Settings > SSL Certificates
Check the checkbox for the new certificate you have added. Click on Secure the Panel.
Check your panel admin login page with the domain.

Moving MySQL from root to main hard drive: Does it affect speed?

I had an issue with /dev/root being full so I decided to move the MySQL from /dev/root to the main hard drive.

The problem is that initially moving the mysql created some issues in the database, so I decided to restore yesterday's mysql which was Ok. Now, my site goes slower.

Note: For 2 months now I have moved to a new server, the speed was awesome, and suddently all of my colleagues have noticed a 20% speed decrease. So Iam just wondering, is it because we have moved the mysql to the main hard drive instead of /dev/root ? Does this really affect speed? Iam just thinking that it's not possible for the speed to change from one day to the other since the site was working fine and fast.

Routing problem

I have 2 Fedora servers on the same subnet. I can't connect each other, but I'm able to access IPs outside the subnet. It's a DC protection or something.
My provider is asking me to set a hostroute on each machine that all traffic needs to be sent over the gateway.

I'm using recommended netmask 255.255.255.255
As per their wiki page, I have also added a route /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-xxx

ADDRESS0=0.0.0.0
NETMASK0=0.0.0.0
GATEWAY0=x.x.x.1

Gateway will appear, of course, only in one place.

I've also tried

#server A
route add -net xIPA.x.x.x netmask 255.255.255.255 gw x.x.x.1
# server B
route add -net xIPB.x.x.x netmask 255.255.255.255 gw x.x.x.1

route add -net x.x.x.0/24 x.x.x.1 (gw)

Nothing is working.

internal resources accessible on public IP

i know there's a more efficient way to word this but here goes...

i have a server running RRAS, DNS, DHCP and IIS 6.0 (yes, i am aware there's a newer version). i have 1 public IP which the LAN uses for internet access. i have 2 internal machines that i would like to allow outside access to for HTTP. one uses port 80, the other is on another port. obviously if i also have a website on the main server using port 80, then it would not be available to forward. in RRAS, right-clicking the public-IP's adapter and going to Services and Ports is where you set up forwarding rules, and there is an 'incoming' and 'outgoing' port for each entry. i would like to figure out how to either allow direct access to the specified LAN machines, or perhaps there is another way, where one could use 'public-IP/directory' to view the internal resource 'via' the public machine? i really hope i'm not confusing anyone. thanks!
