Hi everyone,

I would deeply appreciate anyone who could review my new site I just started.
elancefinder.com

It is a freelance website, where you can post or bid on projects. I am interested in hearing your opinion on the look "colors and graphics" and if it is user friendly.

Any and all advice is welcome. My next step is going to be to market this site to small businesses and webmasters. I know the market is full of freelance sites, but I thought I would give it a try and see if I can make a go out of it. I am hoping my edge is there are no commission fees charged. Thanks in advance.

It looks like you're making good use of CSS and the simplicity is nice, but I think you could make the design a little more interesting. Besides that, my only problem is that the images look very low-quality - a bit like something you would make in MS Paint. You can find plenty of free image creators out there that can produce something better than that, and if you aren't using MS Paint, try rendering it differently. Wink

some of the links on the left side column show underline on hover while some dont.
anyhow, the nonstandard link colors make it difficult to find what is a link and what is not unless we move the mouse over them.

looks good and the front page gets the point across.

2 things i would change:

1) change the "ViewProjects" button to just "Projects"
2) create 4 columns of 6 on the search page where the job types are listed. possibly grouping like jobs together.

looking good so far!

nice layout and concept.

I think you need to be a tad carful with your colour tone use tho. The grey down the menu side is barley visible on my monitors. You should try and stick to websafe colours. It's hard a i know. I personally have an obsession with #ececec and the 'aliceblue', but its not always visible on all monitors due to brightness and contrast settings.

I think your css rollover links could be a little more interesting.

apart from that well done Laughing out loud:D:D

Under your Terms where it states:
"You are prohibited from using ElanceFinder as a method of recruiting freelancers for future work outside of ElanceFinder."

To prevent this you could create a communication board which would allow the webmasters and freelancers to communicate and exchange files so neither party can exchange any contact information.

You could also set up a system that would allow freelancers to have an option to secure the files on the site until they are paid for by the webmaster to download them.

You may have already have something like this, but I have not signed up to look at all the features.

I don't think that there is a way to prevent this. Good luck.

Hard to review. I appreciate the simplicity but I personally expect websites to make use of some nice effects at least for buttons. Looks too much like an advert in a newspaper or a leaflet. Ad some life to it. On the other hand your site is nice and clean.

I think its a good start and also like the simplicity but it looks a bit too simple. Add some graphics or instead of typing out elancefinder.com at the top you should make a banner. One other thing is I think you should have more than a one line description, maybe say why you are better than the competition or something. Other than that it looks great.

Good luck,
