First off, I love beagle pups. They are so adorable.
Now for the goodies. IMO, you should show more of the puppies and less of advertisements and search boxes. People want to see pups not the other junk. Also, I wouldn't use the bevel effect on your images. That is sorta out of date. I would do something like this. Do you have a graphic program so that you can manually crop and resize the images, add borders, etc. for the thumbnails?
Things like the "pass it on gear", ads, and other little images could go to the left under your navigation. Loose the pop ups if you can. They are so annoying. Every time I go to a different page, two pop ups appear. ARG!!!
Each one of your pages has a different color/theme. You should really try to keep things consistant through out the site. But since it is a personal site, remember that you can do anything you like.
(just suggestions)
Again, you don't need all of those search boxes. People generally have their own methods of searching and more than likely will not use those. They are only distracting attention away from your content. PUPS!!!
Nice start. Oh, and welcome to the forums.

This is a great start. My best suggestion is to find other website that you like a lot and try to borrow some of their ideas to apply to your design.

congrats on your first website! my advise to you is try to orginize the ads better... and getting your own domain name some day may be cool too. mayube in the future u may want to consider changing the background too, its a little messy... but hey, so far so good.

Now i think this site needs alot of work but trust me its no better than mine at truly-organic.com, my biggest problem with it is i have a 56k and it took 7-10 seconds to load, i think mabye try cutting some of the java and add more text. Content is good but definatly need more. Very good job though, much better than me.
