This looks good at first glance. Nice, light colour scheme, decent typography. It looks elegant, which is exactly the look you want for a jewelry site.

The logo/header area could use some work. I'm not sure what's with the red G and two bar type things are next to the .com. Keep the title simple and elegant. Try a script or serif typeface instead of that modern looking one. Script and serif typefaces look more traditional and elegant. Also make sure the type can be clearly read on top of the background. You could flip that mountain bit so the mountain is behind the little houses or something.

Looking more closely at your page, I notice that there is a lot of text in graphics. This does help you achieve a nice look but it also means that search engines can't read that text. Very important. Learn to use CSS to style regular text instead of putting it in a graphic. That way search engines will be able to read it and people will be able to resize it if they need to. You could achieve the same look you have here with a combination of plain text, CSS, and background images.

The main navigation is quite far down on the left side. People might even miss it there after all those ads. This is especially problematic when you've already used the horizontal drop-down menus to start a search and need to use that sidbar if you want to refine it. I did find the navigation easy to use and I liked having multiple ways to narrow down my search.

The amount of information in the product descriptions is good, and the enlarged photos are actually big enough to see a good amount of detail.

The pages tend to look a little cluttered - try adding more white space around the main content area and between the product listings. I think it would be okay to make the thumbnails a little smaller because you do have more good photos on the actual product pages.

Good job overall.

First post here from me, so bear with me.

I think the colors are good for the site, I felt like the gold tones and silver in the site was nice as it made me think right away of the jewelry and watches.

Trying to resize the text blew out the layout of the site as the text went outside of the containers, overlapping the images and created some problems reading it.

Plenty of options for searching what you are looking for, which is good.

Agree that there needs to be more whitespace as things looked a little crowded at times and my eyes were kinda wandering when looking at everything.

Just a question, any reason for no doctype and using a table design? just wondering from my standards (xHTML and CSS) ocd mind....

Great site!

I really like it. The pictures really pop out which is important to grab someones attention.
i would say work a little more on the logo. The idea is great, but i think you really need to make it stick out a little, so when people think gold watches they remember the logo.

My first impression is good. It has a very nice design and layout. For what the website is made for it does it perfectly!

I was expecting it to be a fairly tacky site tbh but was pleasantly surprised. The colours work very well for the product you are doing, and really suggest it is a trustworthy site as opposed to a "make money quick" site.

Buying a secondary domian name may be helpful - something more discreet such as "joebloggsjewellers.com", you could still have goldwatches.com but it instantly suggests a con site to me.

Very nice site, good luck with it.

I noticed that from a previous posting, the navigation tools were down to low on the left hand side but you seem to have corrected that by adding another way of navigation at the top of the home page which is a good move. The website is simple and plain which lends itself very well to view jewelry on. When I clicked on the watch, I had the option to view the detail which could also be useful if I were trying to find a watch online.

The site is good to work at i guess. Looks like a clean business shopping cart to me but there are things that i dint like-
1. the colour of the site is tame. i thing you should have given it a more flashy look considering the kind of site it is and the stuff that you are selling.
2. the header is a bit of a lay-off. half of the site's name goes beyond the mountains. i guess something more strong should have presented the overall presence of the header.
3. you could have tried keeping the rest of the site of a differrent color and the header bit a more flashy color.
4. the design is good but a bit jumbled up. the homepage should have been kept clean with more options to categorical view of the featured listings.
Rest is kool. i hope it serves your purpose. keep up the dedicated work.

Colours look good, but overall it looks busy.
You still dont have a doctype mate  and when i tried to validate with W3C, it came back with 338 errors.

I like it a lot. It displays fine in Firefox and on Linux. There is some text in images that may hold you back a bit in search engines, so you might want to somehow change that. Other than that, it's great.

First impression: Cooool!

I think the header and first bar (with search on it etc) are really good! And the box with the "give the gift of time" is awesomely placed. Grabs the attentiion straight away!

Then as I scroll down I see the "Browse by" btis straight away, so I know how to shop. Smiling

I also think the colour scheme goes really well, it looks really respectable and watch like. Sticking out tongue

340 errors in validation though, ha! But no worries, its a great looking site. The big pictures are brilliant.

Hi,

The use of the pastel colours is quite nice. The pastel beige relates well to jewellery products.

I like the fact that the main page promotes products that are being sold on the website. It makes it easy to tell what the purpose of the website is.

There are plenty of functional features on this site. However, the main page seems cluttered and very busy.

Decent website, but the logo needs some work. Not exactly sure why there's a wave in front of the name?

the site is very detailed and i like the dropdown menus to search for watches by brand, price and gender.

the site feels very busy...and very compact with all of the imfo you have squished on one single page.

your site's structure is nice and alligned which makes it look organized.

i think that there might me an image missing on top or there is a random block of whitespace.

You have a very detailed website that uses the space to its full potential. I like your choice of colors. If anything I would add some warmer colors. It seems a little squished but not enough that I would change it at this moment. You have all the necessary pieces to have a working ecommerce website. Good Job

I think the site is professional looking for the line of business, and It is very attention getting. On the other hand, I think the company logo is a little over worked and even a little hard to read. The mountains that fade out do not necessarily work with the urban theme on the other side. I think the main page might be a little cluttered, but then again it does work. Maybe if the size of the bold watches in the center of the page were a little smaller, and some white was build in a little thicker of an area it could be a little more eye friendly. Other than that I feel the website is very navigational, all links work, the colors are corresponding, the site is easy to use, and the content is understandable.

I absolutely love the site. The navigation was so easy. I love the refine your search feature. I thought that it was the most helpful of any website I've seen in a long time.

The only think i would say you may want to look at would be the banner across the top. The whole website does have an elegant look to it, but that looks cheap, and/or tacky. The red headings look a little too bold when compared to the rest of the site. I know they were probably meant to stand out but i feel like they may stand out a little too much.

I also agree that the main page looks a little cluttered. It should look more elegant (like the other pages) because it is a site to buy expensive and high quality jewelry, and it looks a little too much like some sort of discount website.

Overall i think that the page is very helpful and i think that you definitely succeeded in creating an easier navigation system.

While I like the overall layout and ease of navigation, I think that there are a few things that you should change in order to preserve the integrity of your site. Remember, these are just my opinions so take them as you may.

First, I feel that for someone who is trying to sell a product in a high end market that the home page is a little cluttered. Since the person is already at the site and probably knows what they are looking for, I found it a distraction. That being said, I think you are right on with your idea for the appearance.

The shop by budget on the left is a very nice addition. I think that this is almost a necessity for many high end market products today. This allows the consumer to quickly access the information they are looking for.

Another suggestion for the "Men" and "Women" pages, I think that maybe the information stored on the left should be entered in a drop down format. This will clear some of the clutter while still providing easy navigation.

I think the header could be improved upon definitely the snowy mountain and the buildings do not really do it justice apart from that the rest of the page does its job though.
