Hey all,

I am not happy with my site through auction teacher, as their options are very limited on the design of the site. I have gotten some great options here for other hosts, but still not sure about the ecommerce part. Please take a look at my site to see what I mean on the lack of design and please give me your opinions. the site is

Thanks All!

On first view of your site, the basic structure is fine. At closer view, there are a few things need sorting out:

The menu is not that clear, the wording needs to be more prominent.

It needs more organisation, I thought everything was all over the place. It needs more conent structure. Try organising certain text into coloured boxes so that visitors can differentiate between sections.

Overall the basic design is good. Websites need alot of work and with time and patience, you will get there.

I don't understand this bit. I use DW8 and it has nothing to do with my brilliant hosts. Anyway, I hope this has helped maybe just a little bit.Smiling

Thats the prob I have with the site. The graphics and catalogue are all premade. I just entered the products and such. Auction teacher is supposed to be for people who know nothing about creative websites, and every thing is pre-set up. I however know some about the creating sites as I have a personal one as well. And dont like the limited structure they offer.

For example, I want to be able to have so many products per page. Their premade catalogue does not allow this.

Thanks so much for looking. I appreciate it, and value your opinion Smiling

The Header text seems to be lacking something, not sure wich way you should go with it, just needs something?

I would make the game pics hyper, not just a link under them.

Also would make the game pics a consistant size as well as trans/gif files and loose the white around them.

You might want to add the rating for the game, parents shopping might want to know & kids won't care, infact the more restricted the rating, the more kids will want it. just link this site to the specified rating logo.

you might provide a link to the games production page = Bandai Games - Ghost in the Shell®

Anywho, the last two should help boost your site/page ranking.

JMO, Good Luck!!

Your site's not bad after all. It just lacks something. I might say your background needs to be more attractive. Choose a color that blends with your menu. And by the way, your menu doesn't seem to look so clear. You just need to adjust those things and all would be just fine. Wink

Don't take this the wrong way but the first thing I thought as the page slowly loaded on dialup was spammed ebook. You know the ones that use big coloured headings, lots of different size text, different styles, long pages, images of different shape/size/style offering free stuff then at the end you find out it's only a ebook but it's going to cost you your neighbours kidney or gnome. Your site isn't as bad as those but the big black and red headings gave me that thought straight off, and the fact the text is all centered.

Is there anyway you are able to upload a html page to this place? if not how about just using CSS through the (frontpage wannbe) editor.

pop ups, ewwww.
Ok you need a new host, bravenet sucks and wont get you far if you want a professional approach to this
*am so glad firefox blocks pop ups*
The https is not secure, https://secure.dtcbuilder.com/checkout.em?&_s=&_h=gamejunkiesdealer.com should show a padlock, the padlock is broken so is not a secure site - probably an expired cert which is a host problem.
Dang, ok I was at the page above and clicked on 'about us', not only did I get the bravenet pop up I also got this https://secure.dtcbuilder.com/custom.em?pid=484906 error (404 page not found) so it's not connected to your site, once someone goes to the cart you have lost them, no way for them to get back to your site.
dang 16 pop ups and counting.

Sorry to many pop ups looking around your site. You really need a new host
There is a big spread of sites like this, offering games etc, you need to offer hassle free, pleasant viewing/roaming of the site without hassle or pop ups. You need:
A real host (can get them as little as $5-10 a month)
A clean layout - no popups
no centered text - use one font style (arial, verdana or whatever), one size and only use bold and italic to high light important stuff (headings and one or two words a paragraph)
Make use of thumb nails - keep all your images similar size/shape
Use a white background
Give more information, especially about international ordering/shipping etc
but am sure you know all this Smiling

You really need to get away from this host, run dont walk, imagine clowns are chasing you ... run Laughing out loud

Thanks for the advice. The pop ups are actually for the bravenet banner exchange I signedup for to promote traffic. If anyone knows of a better promotion, I am all ears.

It looks good but could look rather less like than it was designed by a 9 year old.

On the whole the site looks to be ok with the design. But the font size is not uniform. For better look change the background color also.

Good Luck .

The layout is fine , but I think you could change the colors to more lighten ones , the menu on the left seems to spread out on that part , I think that the links should be a bit closer, i don`t thinks it`s quite nice to have to scroll just to click to go to another page.
I do not understand what the bottom part means. You could try to make that part a bit cleaner.
Else the site is okay

Dks

I am not sure what to say except echo what has been said. It lacks 'something'

The text on the buttons is a little rough on the eyes (me having poor eye sight) I can't read it easily...

I really like the banner but then it just hits the white...It kinda looks like I don't know...It looks awesome then it goes into some basic tables and white background...The buttons don't do the banner justice either they are basic while the banner is complex and smooth. I think it just lacks...'flow'

I think the menu and top part is ok its just the middle part which could do with a little re-design. There is a lot of white space and not a lot of content to let me know what the site is about from first impression. It is clearly a gaming website but what type of gaming site is what is not so clear.

Keep at it though because the basic design of the page is ok Smiling
