I have a coupon site http://www.july4coupon.com/
Your opinion is welcomed as this is a targeted site and independence day is coming. So I must act fast in order to attract visitors this year.

Hello,

I think the site is good. But I strongly suggest you to consider adding appropriate images to the coupon offers, so users can just look at the image and know what the coupon is about without reading the whole title.

Best Regards

The script available in your signature is far better than the WordPress theme you are using. So my question is why are you not using that script for your website?

I agree with the above poster, the theme you're using here isn't too attractive at all. Reminds me of something out of 1997-2001 Geocities days of web-design. Your page information is fine however.

I think the two side panels can be a little darker, say 10-20%. As it is, it harmonize too well with the central portion, so much so, there is not much contrast. The text area looks forbidding. Looks like some dry-cut monotonous directory. Putting on colors to it via images should make it look less forbidding. I am sure this can be easily effected without requiring a fresh layout. Just experiment with the colors and you will see a totally different look.

Hi Aditd, I thought your website was a little bit too simple for a 4th of July celebrations. I would recommend putting an attractive background as well as maybe a few more tabs for users to be able to access an about us page and how to contact you for more information. Another thing i would change is moving the calendar from the bottom all the way to under your rss feeds, its getting a little bit too low for any user to want to go all the way to the bottom. Besides that, your content looks great and maybe consider making the posts a little bit more attractive.

Good Luck

On the positive side, you have certainly come through with the patriotic feel that you're evidently going for. Your links to coupon codes did work, and the information is easy to find upon the page.

The page design appears quite outdated, however, and the heading text (July 4th Coupon) is difficult to read, as the white font blends in with the plumage of the eagle. There's also no contact information provided about the owners of the site, or and information about them at all. There is a navigation bar across the top of the site, but it only has a single link in it - perhaps it could be put to better use? Also, you have a tag cloud and a calendar on the site, but they're located all the way at the bottom of the page where a user might not find them; in the meantime, a great deal of the right hand column is going unused.

It's a nice looking site with a basic but effective layout. I'll hopefully have some helpful criticism for you but great job on a good site. It looks good. Really.

You may want to include links to describe your business, its objectives and policies. This would mean including a privacy policy, terms of use policy, or a contact us link and an about page. All of these would go a long way to help gain trust from site visitors.

Presumably this is a site intended for American shoppers only (the kind of thing your about statement might acknowledge) as the domain name gives that impression along with the stately eagle and American flag image. I would suggest that the eagle does look somewhat cut-off at the beak however.

The 'Subscribe RSS' title is difficult to read.

I would suggest moving Tags box to the side bar under or above the RSS feed.

The calendar object looks a little basic and could use some formating love. I would probably remove the word 'CALENDAR' from above as we all know it's a calendar. That would help to size it more better compared to the Tags box beside it.

I'm not sure I think there's any point to telling the average user how long it took for the page to build in the footer.

I also don't think 'pimped by' is professional sounding. However, that's just an opinion.

A couple of site feature ideas:
- optional rss choices for different sets of deals
- login system that allows site preferences and ability to post links to deals

It's a good job and looks great. Hopefully my comments help. Nice work.

Simple and easy layout to understand. It is clear what the point of the website is which is good. The title "july 4th coupon" does overlap with the picture of the eagle a little bit which cuts out part of the word July which would look better if fixed. I find that the blog style doesn't fit perfectly with this type of website. Something more attractive to the user visually would insight them to look through your website and look for coupons that interest them. Pictures to go with the "adds" could also be useful to grab the users attention. The entire page seems very grey to me (I am partly color blind so it may just be me) therefor I would suggest using more vibrant colors.

A simple design to a simple web site. It is easy to understand and easy to navigate around.
I would recommend adding some additional tags besides "home" -> "About us" or "Contact" might be some of the useful ones; if not then remove the "home" tag from the header all together since it is the only one there, which makes it look a little off. Footer looks a little unfinished to my liking, I would format calendar and tags sections to the same hight and width for a better visual effect. I also think coupons should have corresponding images to them to improve browsing experience.

The logo is difficult to read.

The website is not responsive (not difficult when the site is just text)

I don't know what a july 4th coupon is supposed to signify, especially in April

The posts look like they have had the stylesheet deleted.

There was a comedian (probably Lewis Black) who said that winter in New York made him want to slit his wrists so he could see some colour. This website brings that scenario to mind.

You don't need two significant figures on a label of 12% off.

If you want anyone to buy any of these products, you need at least a cartoon drawing of them or, ideally, a picture.

Find a way of making the "comments off" button invisible, or turn them on. You get a higher page rank for fresh content, and if people are willing to comment you get that content for free.

Change your posts to be something you could shout from a storefront to attract people. The "titles" are so technical I stop reading before I can find out what is being sold.

Format the text so it isn't annoyingly spaced.

A lot of people have said this is a nice website. I know I'm being a terrible person when I say this, but this is an astoundingly bad website. If it weren't for the picture of the eagle, this site would be the worst website I've ever seen. I think that is literally true. It's basically a poorly formatted word document.

On the plus side, a small amount of research and tinkering, along with the advice on this forum will make this site much, much better. (supportive smiley).

I think your site could use a little more as far as styling goes. The 4th of of July provides you with many design opportunities. Maybe some fireworks would help give the page some color and help convey the spirit of the holiday. Maybe trying to incorporate the coupon into the design, or something to do with money, or saving money.
For what the is site is intended to do the layout is pretty much all you could ask for. Although some sort of search mechanism to quickly search by category would help once you begin to get accumulate posts. Perhaps modifying you tags to do this for you could make it easy.
I think a little imagination in terms of design and the search functionality would make the site more appealing and user friendly.
Hope this helps!
