Please take a look at my site http://www.HiddenCameraSpecialists.com and provide any and all recommendations for improvement on both search engine placement and mostly for conversion. I am getting a little bit of traffic, approximately 150 visitors a day but have a very low conversion rate, about .1%, yes, that was .001.

Any advice you can give would be helpful. I am starting to lose confidence and wonder if this site will ever convert.

Thanks for the help.

From a design perspective, I think you could do some things to make this site look more legit. The lack of logo and basic design makes it look a little bit less respectable than it could be. And you know how people are wary about giving their credit card details out online. You need your site to look like it's a solid, real world business.

A proper logo would help a lot. Also consider goiing to more of a white based design. This grey colour is nice but for some reason I'm thinking clean and white would work best for this site. The bright orange is a little too bright and doesn't really go with the grey-green background.

Try to refine the design details - you may want to work with a professional designer if you can. It would be worth it to get this looking more like legitimate store.

The home page should include some sort of pitch about the product and buying hidden cameras. Try to think about how you can appeal to the customer. It's good to feature products on the home page but also have some promo's or sales pitches as well rather than just listing the products. This coould be a combination of what the text at the bottom is doing (describing the products) and the product displays at the top. I think it is important to show a product or two above the fold in some way.

The code looks good from what I can see. You're probably doing the right things for on-page SEO. It's hard to get a good look at the code with the code compressed like that. I see there's some good headers there and you've got good keywords in your description text at the bottom. The title tags look good - you could probably get some more keywords into the home page title.

Something is messed up with the navigation menu in Opera 9/Mac - the moseover icon that comes up is sort of covering up the bullet. I'm guessing that the bullets aren't supposed to be there.

As far as conversions, another thing you should do is look at your referrers and see if you can find ways to get better targetted traffic. It looks like you have some halfway decent backlinks here. The cheap directories probably aren't doing you any favours. It's kind of telling that they all appear at the end of the list on a Yahoo linkdomain: search.

No, actually, those links only looked good at first glance - you're mostly relying on cheap web directories and spammy link exchange pages here. You really need to work on finding ways to get quality linkbacks. The Yahoo directories are the only good links I can find in here except maybe those URLwire ones.

Thanks for the suggestions and feedback. I now have a logo, I added a sales pitch and moved it to the top of the page but left some products above the fold. I did change the layout, but not sure if it is really any better. Unfortunately, I can't afford to pay a professional designer at this time. Now, I'll get to linking! I plan on purchasing SEO elite to see if it can help. Ever used it?

Thanks again, Suzanne
