I came up with this idea earlier today. Rather than just a dropdown/radio button to select the message format, I made an "indicator background" and added some animation.

That's for the admin side, right? If it is, I think it's ok. But don't use it for the regular subscribe forms because I don't think regular users would be acustomed to it. Admins would figure it out rather quickly and apreciate the coolness, I suppose.

Yep, for the admin side. Front end makes zero use of ajax and any effects and the like
