Cold Fusion is a powerful programming language. It covers everything from software to web development. I've heard it is similar to PHP, Perl, Asp, etc. Unfortunately it is quite spendy. For more information follow the link below:

I am not a big fan of CF, simply because the last company I worked for spent $60,000 on a fully e-com enabled site which they coded in CF. When I started at this company they were in big trouble with their site. Might have been the developers at the other company, but All I know is that another developer and I eventually dumped CF and created an ASP based solution to the problem which was far more stable, faster and easier to maintain.
