Been a long time since I was here, doesn't seem to have changed much Smiling (that's a good thing!)

Took a guess and this seemed the best spot to put this in since it's what I'll be using it for, sorry if this should be elsewhere. Does anyone know of a good *free* program to use that does this? I've only been able to find either time or use limited trials/crippled versions/$20 shareware stuff so far

I remember using a use limited trial of some software a long time ago called homesite I think it was which worked great for this, but I'm looking for something small that's main purpose is to do this and not part of a much bigger site editor program

Have about 200 files I want to change a few parts of (all use close to the same template) and not looking forward to cutting and pasting in notepad at all!

Thanks in advance Smiling

The only program i know of that does this is macromedia dreamweaver - but unless your prepaired to pay for it its only a 30 day trial. Doesn't microsoft office offer a search and replace feature?

look in the other thread, "5 tools I can't live without"

I use the free editpad lite myself, can have over 1000 files open at once (says not to do more than 300 but i have done 1000), search and replace, convert ... and the pro version ($39.95) has syntax highlighting , spell check etc
